FAQ – EDIUS Future Assurance Program
What is the EDIUS Future Assurance Program?
The EDIUS Future Assurance Program allows eligible EDIUS 11 customers to receive a complimentary upgrade to the next major version of EDIUS when it becomes available.
The program applies to qualifying purchases made on or after September 1, 2026.
What will I receive through this program?
Eligible customers will receive a free upgrade to the next major EDIUS version when it is officially released.
Which products are eligible?
The following products qualify for the EDIUS Future Assurance Program:
- EDIUS 11 Pro
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup
- EDIUS 11 Broadcast
- EDIUS 11 Pro Upgrade
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup Upgrade
- EDIUS 11 Pro Jump Upgrade
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup Jump Upgrade
- EDIUS 11 Pro Second License*
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup Second License*

Are EDU versions eligible?
No.
EDIUS EDU licenses are educational products and are not upgradeable to future commercial versions. Therefore, EDU licenses are not eligible for the EDIUS Future Assurance Program.
When can I register for my free upgrade?
The registration page on EDIUS.NET/free will become available at the end of September 2026.
At that time, you will be be able to enter your serial number and reserve your entitlement to the free future upgrade.
How does the registration process work?
- Visit EDIUS.NET/free.
- Enter your EDIUS serial number.
- The system will verify whether the serial number qualifies for the program.
- If eligible, your registration will be recorded.
- When the next major EDIUS version becomes available, you will receive a notification by email.
What is an eID?
An eID is your EDIUS account and is associated with your email address.
All upgrade entitlements are linked to the eID attached to your EDIUS license.
Does my license need to be registered to an eID?
Yes.
Your eligible EDIUS license must be registered and associated with a valid eID before it can participate in the Future Assurance Program.
What if my license is not yet associated with an eID?
If your license has not yet been activated and linked to an eID, you will be asked to complete the activation process first.
Once the license is associated with an eID, you can return to EDIUS.NET/free and complete the registration.
Which email address will receive the upgrade notification?
Notifications will be sent to the email address associated with the eID linked to your eligible EDIUS license.
Do I need to register before the next version is released?
No.
However, registering in advance is highly recommended. Customers who preregister will be notified immediately when the free upgrade becomes available.
When will I receive my upgrade?
As soon as the next major EDIUS version is released, registered participants will receive an email explaining how to claim their complimentary upgrade.
How long will the free upgrade be available?
The complimentary upgrade must be claimed during the official redemption period.
The claim period is expected to remain open for up to three months after the release of the next major EDIUS version.
The final deadline will be announced when the upgrade becomes available.
I purchased EDIUS 11 on or after September 1, 2026. Am I eligible?
Yes, provided that the purchased product is one of the eligible products listed above.
Are Upgrades and Jump Upgrades eligible?
Yes.
Eligible EDIUS Upgrades and Jump Upgrades are fully included in the Future Assurance Program.
Are Second Licenses eligible?
Yes, but there is one important condition.
A Second License is only eligible if the corresponding primary (first) license is also eligible for the Future Assurance Program.
Example 1 – Eligible
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup purchased on September 15, 2026
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup Second License purchased on September 15, 2026
✅ Both licenses qualify for a free upgrade.
Example 2 – Not Eligible
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup purchased in 2025
- EDIUS 11 Workgroup Second License purchased on September 15, 2026
❌ The Second License does not qualify because the associated primary license is not eligible.
In other words:
Purchasing only a Second License after September 1, 2026 does not create eligibility on its own. The associated primary license must also qualify for the Future Assurance Program.
How will the system verify my Second License eligibility?
The registration system will verify both:
- The Second License serial number
- The associated primary license
Only if both meet the program requirements will the Second License be approved for the complimentary upgrade.
Is the Disk Authoring Option eligible?
Yes.
The Disk Authoring Option is eligible for the corresponding future version upgrade when associated with a qualifying EDIUS installation.
Can I register multiple licenses?
Yes.
Each eligible serial number must be registered separately.
Can I transfer my eligibility to another eID?
No.
Upgrade eligibility remains associated with the eID linked to the eligible license.
What happens if I change my eID?
Please ensure that your eligible license is associated with your current eID.
The eID linked to the license at the time upgrade notifications are sent will be used for the upgrade process.
Can I check the status of my registration?
Yes.
Once the registration portal is available, you will be able to verify the status of your registration directly on this website.
What if my serial number is shown as not eligible?
Please verify that:
- The serial number was entered correctly.
- The product is part of the eligible product list.
- The license is activated and linked to an eID.
- The license is not an EDU version.
- In the case of a Second License, the associated primary license is also eligible.
If you believe your license should qualify, please contact your EDIUS reseller or EDIUS support.
Do I need to pay anything for the free upgrade?
No.
If your license qualifies for the EDIUS Future Assurance Program, the upgrade to the next major EDIUS version will be provided at no additional charge.

Important Notice
Registering your serial number on EDIUS.NET/free reserves your upgrade entitlement.
The complimentary upgrade itself will only become available after the next major EDIUS version has been officially released.
Customers who preregister their eligible serial numbers will be notified automatically via their registered eID email address as soon as the upgrade is available to claim.
